INSTRUCTIONS

OVEN METHOD

Preheat the oven to 180C / 350F. Place puff pastry sheet on a clean, flat surface and spread tomato paste evenly across the sheet. Spread the rest of the toppings over evenly, then roll the puff pastry sheet up tightly.  Use a sharp knife to cut into 10 even pieces. Place pinwheels on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or silicone mat, then place in oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden and cooked through completely.

AIR FRYER METHOD

Line your air fryer basket or trays with baking paper.    Place puff pastry sheet on a clean, flat surface and spread tomato paste evenly across the sheet. Spread the rest of the toppings over evenly, then roll the puff pastry sheet up tightly.  Use a sharp knife to cut into 10 even pieces. Carefully place the pinwheels into the paper-lined air fryer basket or trays, keeping a bit of space between each one. Sprinkle a little cheese on top of each pinwheel, then cook in the air fryer on 180C / 350F for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the puff pastry is golden. Tip – If you’re making these as an appetiser and want a more elegant look, simply whisk an egg in a bowl and use a pastry brush to lightly brush the outside of each scroll before placing in the oven.  This will give them a more golden look.

Can you freeze pinwheels?

Pinwheels are fantastic to freeze!  Once pinwheels are cooled completely, store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Can you cook pinwheels from frozen?

Absolutely.  Set oven to 180C / 350F.  Place frozen pinwheels onto a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes, or until cooked through completely.
